My name is Brent Bly, I am a singer/songwriter/drummer/producer originally from Toledo, Ohio

I was around 6 years old the first time I heard the Beatles. It was an album called "Rock 'n Roll Music Volume One.”  On tv I discovered the Monkeys and Sha Na Na (my first concert) and then the rise of MTV. I was hooked. At that time I never thought about being a musician or being in a rock n roll band, I was such a fan that it seemed so out of reach.

I started playing the violin in 2nd grade, I played violin, viola and cello in the school orchestra until 8th grade, I was 1st chair cello in an all-city jazz band in elementary school. I quit the orchestra when I went to high school. Not the best life decision looking back, I turned my back on a wealth of music knowledge and learning.  Live and learn I suppose.

I started playing drums in 1992, I joined my first band in 1994. I played in local bands up until around 2006, never got what and where I wanted musically. Looking back I would have done quite a few things differently. Hindsight is always 20/20 I guess.

I started as a drummer. Around 2001 or so I was in a band and a song needed lyrics. I took a stab at it, it was called "Heart of Stone." I was then alerted to the rule that "You write it you sing it. So now I'm a singer. The first song I sang on stage was a cover of JEEPSTER by T-Rex.

The last band I was in I wrote the lyrics to and sung about 33 percent of the songs. I bought a guitar and tried to start writing music. My first full song I wrote for the band by myself was called "Those Young Girls." I really became more enamored with songwriting and production than "being in a band."

I left the whole band thing around 2004 or 5 and decided to devote my time to writing and crafting songs and recording/mixing/production. I released my first solo CD called "Naked th the World '' in 2006. To be brutally honest I didn't feel I hit my stride until 2010. A lot of songs that I have written make me cringe when I listen to them.  Part of the process I guessI have been doing that ever since.

In 2006 I did my first modeling shoot. I did about 4-5 shoots with photographers, I was PLAYGIRL magazine's "Real Man of the Month" in the July/August 2008 issue. My intent was to draw attention to my music.

I decided to name my "band" BRENT BLY'S DARK AMBITION. It does have some deep philosophical meaning but for me it's just a cool name/title. In 2010 I released a CD called VENOM with a single called ALL THE RAGE. As a songwriter I felt as if I was on my way.

I have spent the last 15-16 years trying to become a better drummer/singer/songwriter/musician/producer/arranger/mixer than I was the day before. Another day, another step. It’s what I do. Good, bad or indifferent.

My latest CD is called FILTH and the single is called THE TRUTH WILL NEVER SET YOU FREE.

What's next???? The next song.
